One of the things that’s interesting about the tagging revolution that’s going on with del.icio.us (where people can categorize websites they like however they want, and then poke around other people’s categories and favorites) is the way it breaks down public and private preferences.
I’ve been thinking a lot about events – how to use the web more for offline events – and del.icio.us presents a new possible solution. What if someone built a way for people used the tagging model for their own private calendar, with all the helpful trappings of a traditional calendar app, and then provided a way to tag some things publicly?

The model I’ve encouraged up to now involves variations on highly public calendars – Meetup, Dean's Get Local, America Coming Together’s ACT HERE, and so on. This model involves no impact on your own private calendar (whether that’s Outlook, a poorly scratched together list on a Word doc, or a public app like e2do).

But what if events were tagged. Instead of having two different calendars (your outlook calendar, hyperpersonal, tied to your operating system and your public calendars (upcoming.org. Meetup, Idealist.org, Xanga events, e.g.)), you’d have one – a place you listed your own events—and categorize your own events however you want—and choose which ones to go public.
At e2do, you can pick friends to share some events with, but imagine something halfway in between the del.icio.us model and e2do. By default, your calendar is private, but whenever you want you can tag something publicly.

You might tag going to a show publicly, or going to a political event, or an interesting brown bag lunch. Since your core incentive for using the app would be keeping your own calendar, you’d be more likely to fill it in – unlike the public calendars that require lots of extra work for people to fill up, and work best where there is an evangelical group or institution filling it with events.
Thoughts? This is ultimately going to be most effective where its integrated into your blogging software or some other daily app you use, but for now, I think it could help push the event-uses of the net forward.

And so the Adventure begins...

And so the Adventure begins...

New people, stunning & spectacular views, and lots of optimism are what I'm seeking.

I'm looking for open-minded people who are health conscious, and lead healthy, active, lifestyles. Time to learn some new talents, such as snowboarding, skiing (maybe) and hopefully surfing in B.C.

Can't wait to find those running & riding trails. Want to join me?

I would love to have some contact with fellow motorcycle riders. Doesn't matter to me what you ride, crotch-rocket, or cruiser ... just don't be name-dropping HD to try to impress me. I'll run screamin' in the other direction. LOL!!!
While romance is a wonderful thing, and something I wish wasn't always "just out of reach"... I cannot base all of my time worrying over attaining it at this moment.

I'm not prepared at this time to go into great detail of romantic notions, as my sights are set upon porn movies lol and other endeavours that are important and fun plus fulfilling. Make no mistake...I'm open to the bliss of a wonderful relationship, however, It'll find me when it's right.

Say Hello when you can.

Take Care.
